FALL RUSH 2026

Letter from the Pledge Coordinator
Dear Future Sisters,
When I first came to Texas A&M, I never could have imagined how much Kappa Phi would become a part of my college experience. I was incredibly shy and quiet, and putting myself out there was definitely not something that came naturally to me. When I first found Kappa Phi, I was looking for a Christian community where I could grow in my faith and find genuine friendships, but I had no idea just how much this sisterhood would impact me.
My Kappa Phi story started when my friend Julia brought me along to MSC Open House. I had never heard of Kappa Phi before, but the moment I started talking to the girls, I knew there was something special about them. They were so welcoming, genuine, and intentional, and somehow, they completely brought out my true personality! I felt so comfortable with them, and talking to them felt like I had known them for years. Looking back, I know that little detour was completely part of God’s plan. Through Kappa Phi, I have met some of my closest friends, made memories I will cherish forever, grown in my faith, and become much more confident in who I am. From Retreat and Big/Little to Bible studies and the countless little moments in between, Kappa Phi has given me a community that truly feels like home.
Getting to serve as Pledge Coordinator has been such a special full-circle moment for me. The shy girl now gets to help welcome other girls into the same sisterhood that changed her college experience. I have loved every part of planning Rush and getting to share something so meaningful to me with all of you. This semester’s theme, Wild About Kappa Phi, is especially fitting because I truly believe God works through the most unexpected moments. I never planned on finding my college home at that table, but He knew exactly what He was doing. Our Rush verse, Ecclesiastes 3:11, reminds us that He makes everything beautiful in His perfect timing, and I can see that so clearly when I look back at my Kappa Phi journey.
If you are reading this and feeling nervous about Rush, I want you to know that I understand. I was in your shoes, and taking that first step led me to some of the most meaningful relationships and experiences of my college years. You don’t have to have everything figured out or know exactly what you’re looking for. Just be yourself, ask questions, meet new people, and trust that God will lead you where you are meant to be. Most importantly, keep Him at the center of the process and remember that His timing is always better than our own.
I hope that when you meet the girls of Kappa Phi, you feel the same love, warmth, and intentionality that I felt when I first found this sisterhood. Whether we get to know you for one event or have the joy of eventually calling you our sister, we are so excited to meet you. I’m praying that this Rush season brings you sweet friendships, lots of laughter, and a deeper relationship with Christ. Maybe Kappa Phi will be the place where you find your people, step outside of your comfort zone, and discover a home you never knew you were looking for.
With so much love,
Abigail Flencher
