IS KAPPA PHI AFFILIATED WITH A CERTAIN DENOMINATION?

No! We are a non-denominational organization, and we have girls from many different denominations. Our core is that we love Christ, not that we have one denomination that we support.

 

HOW BIG IS KAPPA PHI?

We currently have about 30 members.

DO I HAVE TO BE AN A&M STUDENT TO JOIN KAPPA PHI?

We have girls who are A&M students, Blinn Team students, and Blinn College students.

DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION, ATTEND EVERY RUSH EVENT, OR INTERVIEW?

No! We are non-selective, which means that if you want to join, we want you to join! We would love for you to attend every rush event, but rush is not mandatory. Rush is just a great time to get to know you better and for you to get to know us!

 

HOW MUCH OF A WEEKLY COMMITMENT IS KAPPA PHI?

We ask for about 2 hours of commitment per week. That is a 1 hour weekly meeting and a 1 hour bible study (there are usually 3-5 per week for you to choose from). If we have any social events that week, that would add time commitment, but they aren't required, so it is up to you if you want to come!

 

WHEN ARE WEEKLY MEETINGS? WHAT IF I HAVE CLASS DURING THAT TIME?

Meetings are on Monday nights at 7pm on campus! If you have class during that time, you can still join! There will also be social events, bible studies, and worship nights that you get to be a part of, so you will still be able to get to know your awesome sisters! Don't stress about it- we send a meeting recap email every week!

 

DO I HAVE TO DRESS UP FOR MONDAY NIGHT MEETINGS?

No! We are very relaxed and will most likely show up in our t-shirts and shorts/leggings. We are all about comfort and comfort colors.

 

HOW MUCH ARE DUES? WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? WHAT IF I CAN'T PAY ALL AT ONCE?

Our dues are $170 for pledges (first semester) and $150 for actives (every semester after that). We use that money to pay for our social activities, t-shirts, and retreat. We offer payment plans for those who cannot pay all at once.

 

WHAT ARE THE MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS PER SEMESTER?

• Dues

• Attend the Ceremony of the Yellow Rose

• Attend at least 5 bible studies

• Attend Retreat

• 10 service hours per semester

• Miss no more than 3 meetings

• Attend 1 Worship Night

• Attend the Ceremony of the Flame

• Extra Pledge Requirements (must complete to become an active member):

  • Fulfill CC requirement

  • Attend all pledge meetings

  • Pass the pledge test
